UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENT EXERCISE INTENSITY

Iintensity of an exercise is a measurement of how difficult an aerobic activity, such as walking or biking, feels to you. You can determine the intensity of your exercise by measuring:

  1. How do you feel?
  2. - This will vary from one person to another

  3. What is your heart rate?
  4. - This will increase with more exercise intensity

A talk test can also be used to determine your exercise intensity as shown below:

Moderate-intensity activity

In which you are able sing and talk while participating in the activity

Vigorous intensity Activities

You are unable to talk for more than a few sentences without taking a breath
